  • 5 I'm back again for more

I found Electronic World two or three years ago and have been back to buy another since then, so I have had two televisions from them. I am thrilled with both their efficient operation and the TVs. I have just ordered a third one (for my son) and fully expect the same first class service. I'll post another review after I have picked up the latest purchase. To those of you reading these reviews and wondering whether to buy from electronic world, please remember that people who have a negative experience are much more likely to write a review than those who are completely happy; this is why I have made a point of doing this review. I am certain that the majority of customers have the positive outcome that I have had, simply go home and enjoy their television. Watch this space! Sally Bruce

  • 1 Avoid ElectronicWorldTV

I recently purchased a Samsung UE40B7000 from www.electronicworldtv.co.uk I took the TV home, gave it a look over and noticed that it had too few USB ports and no Ethernet connection, both of which are supposed to be present on the 7000 model. Next, I plugged in a USB pen drive and found that the onboard software had no ability to play back video, another feature of the 7000 missing. Finally, I tried updating the firmware, thinking this might enabled the video playback. When I tried to update it the TV refused, saying I was trying to update with the wrong firmware. I double-checked and I definitely had the 7000 firmware. I went hunting through the menus and found "Contact Samsung" that listed off the firmware version and TV model. The firmware reported the TV to be a 6000 series not a 7000! I check the labels on the TV and they all said UE40B7000. I had been scammed!! It turns out that ElectronicWorldTV had sold me a UE40B6000 that had been dressed up to look like a UE40B7000. Not only had the labels been changed but so had the facia of the TV. The 6000 has a curved under side on the facia and the 7000 is flat. Mine was flat, so a 7000 facia had been bolted to a 6000 TV! I contacted ElectronicWorldTV and the agreed to send me another (or rather my first) UE40B7000. It took them 2 weeks to get it to me (again with no documentation), during which time the price of the TV fell by £60. I contacted them and asked that they refund me the difference, they grudgingly agreed. I also contacted Trading Standards who told me that ElectronicWorldTV was required to refund me the travel costs of the 400 mile round to collect the TV. ElectronicWorldTV refused to comply with this requirement and then refused to refund me the difference, claiming they had never agreed to it! If you have purchased a product form ElectronicWorldTV make sure you have what you think you have! The moral of this story, AVOID ElectronicWorldTV LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

  • 4 Recommend to anyone !!

Very satisfied with the service. Was recommended by a friend and I am very pleased by the outcome. Brought a 32" LG from their website, much cheaper than Dixons etc. Might be better if they did home delivery but it was only a half hour drive to the nearest shop so was convenient enough. Will recommend and use again.

  • 5 Great People, great products

Really honest, decent people. I have purchased several televisions from this company, whenever i go they make me a coffee and the staff are very friendly. 'John H' - it seems we brought from two different companies! The televisions are a joy and im one very happy customer :-)

  • 1 Complete Customer disregard

I bought a TV from this co.( trading as TVS4U )in Nov. 2007. It was returned to them for repair under guarantee in April 2008. On receiving it back from them I noticed that it had sustained damage, I contacted them and was offered the derisory sum of £20 as compensation ( purchase price was £200 ), I argued that since the damage was caused by them they should provide me with a replacement which they agreed to. I have since then been trying through repeated phone calls and false promises to achieve that end. I have now been told that because of the time interval since April and that the TV is now outside guarantee!! that all they are prepared to offer is £15 and no replacement! I would urge potential customers to have nothing whatsoever to do with this company, they will tell you any old bull...t to get rid of you, and never stick to their promise to call you back.

    10
