Cafe Rouge is a chain of Brasserie-style restaurants serving a range of light meals and drinks within a French atmosphere. There is a large choice of dishes as well as hot and cold drinks which makes this restaurant a good stop off point for tea and snacks rather than grand dinners.
We ate here last Saturday. The restaurant was practically empty but they struggled to get our order correct, delivering our starters and mains to the wrong table. They also got the wrong dish for our starter. Worse still the food was not up to par. I had a very tough steak that was tasteless. I would not recommend this place.
There is a wide range and selection of food and drink on their menu. Friendly staff and very good service. Great place to either for a small bite/snack, or a bigger meal....
A lovely place to eat. The atmosphere is lovely with candles and flowers on every table. The food is delicious and always fresh. My husband had the mussles in white wine as a starter and when it arrived we couldn't believe how large the portion was, it was more like a main course. He said they were the best mussels he's ever tasted and would definately order the same again next time.We couldn't decide whether to finish with the creme brulee or the cheese board so had a creme brulee each, which was really tasty, and then shared a cheese board between three of us!

Cafe Rouge is a lovely relaxing & romantic place to vist,The staff are very polite and friendly and the service is excellent.I visted with my young children and we really enjoyed ourselves plus the staff members were very helpful& handed out activity packs to keep them entertained which was a lovely bonus. There is wide array of wines from France and other beveragesThe food is delicious- We went during lunchtime and there is also a childrens menu which is very reasonably priced at a set price for a meal, desert & drink. They happily tucked into their Cheesy omelettes with fries whilst I opted for the light lunch option of a baguette filled with hummous & peppers. We had a lovely relaxing meal in great surroundings and will be visting again soon.10/10
Took one of my girlfriends here some months ago one saturday evening as I thought it would be romantic, and me, being me, i'm not a romantic person usually! The food and drink are reasonably priced and as its called Cafe Rouge, its totally a French atmosphere. The food is well worth the money and the atmosphere is just so friendly, bright and calm. They do a large selection of wines and other drinks and the staff do their best to make sure you are well looked after (or are they just after a big tip?) The music that is played, is really nice and relaxing and I would recommend this place for anyone who wants a nice quiet night out with their partner. Will be coming here again soon perhaps with my new girlfriend.
