Thai Orchid serves superb, authentic cuisine offering a vast array of delicious Thai dishes. There are magnificent Thai Buffets at lunchtimes and the impressive A La Carte Menus include a selection of delightful Banquet Menus, a wide choice of vegetarian meals and tempting home-cooked desserts. The restaurant is designed and furnished by an experienced team of craftsmen who carefully create an exotic Thai oasis. The sumptuous, cosy surroundings blend enchanting Thai carvings with beautiful Thai artefacts, a real profusion of tropical plants and traditional, hand-carved teak furniture throughout.
Admittedly, it was valentine's day but I had booked a table that was assured to be available at the time of booking. We arrived 20 minutes early and were told our table would be free at the agreed time. After constantly asking how long it would be before we were seated, it reached 10.30pm (we arrived at 9.10) and we still hadn't been seated 1h20 after arriving. By 11pm (1h50 after arriving) we decided to leave as the evening was ruined anyway. There were about 12 other couples miserably waiting as well and many of them left like we did. On phoning the restaurant afterwards to politely ask if there was any compensation they could offer if we came again such as a free drink or discount, they were rude and offensive to me saying that they were busy and I should've been more patient- almost 2hours waiting it patient enough I think! I can't comment on the food (although i must say that it did smell and look good) but I did tell the manager that they should respect customer's opinions and that many bad experiences like mine would give a nice restaurant a bad reputation to which they replied "tell all the friends you want, we get enough business it doesn't matter". I don't think this is acceptable service and vow never to go again and to advise it against anyone who considers going.
We went here for a special occasion and really had a good time. All the food is delicious but the desserts deserve a special mention. The waiter pushes a trolley over with a huge array of deserts and there is something for everyone's tastes. My husband actually had a desert which is extremely unusual so it shows just how tantelising they were! If you like going somewhere where you'll be treated like a VIP then this is the place to go. Your chair is pulled out for you, they let you sample your wine before purchase etc. All the things you would expect in most establishments but rarely get! The waiters can't do enough for you. It is a little pricy but well worth the money for such a good night out.

We went for a friends birthday. I booked in advance and got money off the meal using the Big Invitation discount voucher. The moment you walked in you knew you were in for a treat. The look and feel has a mix of styles, beautiful wooden carved furniture mixed with an amazing assortment of real and plastic plants but somehow it works beautifully. We went on a very busy Saturday night but the staff were polite and never made you feel rushed. As we heard so much praise for their seafood selection we opted for something we don't normally choose. We decided to share a fish platter and my goodness it was exactly what it said! The food was beautiful if a tad repetitive you can only eat so many mussels in one setting! The food is displayed beautifully and the selection of vegetables, rice etc are the perfect compliment to the main. We thouroughly enjoyed our dish. By the time we got to the legendary deserts trolly we were both full, but we still crammed more tasty treats in - I had a gorgeous ginger cheesecake which was wonderful. I would definately go back again just this time we'll opt for anything but more fish!

I went there early on a Saturday evening. No buffet then (thank goodness!) and the normal a la carte menu is fine. Evening ruined slightly by me forgetting important medication and having to dash home and back in a cab which meant my food was waiting on the table for me when I got back - but that's not their fault! I don't normally like Thai food, too much coconut for my taste, but I enjoyed my meal here. And the sweet trolley has to be seen to be believed!
Not a bad Thai, basically. We went there for a business lunch and they do a great tasty buffet; yum. All the trimmings - just about everything - special note goes to the thai green curry and fish dishes.Beautifully decorated and a fun place to go.It's quick and easy really, thats the good thing about it. And good value.
