Ive always wanted to do some kind of self defence, martial art, boxing etc but never actually went for it until I saw K star. I didnt no what to expect but im so glad I joined because Ive never felt so fit or confident when Im out. I didnt really look into what academy I was going to join but looking back I have been very lucky to wander across k star. Firstly the instructors there have been there and done it, they have the belts to prove it and are world class fighters, they have proved to be one of the best academies in the world from the fighters that have come out of k star and are continously winning. If you look at other academies there technique isnt all that, we get taught to perfection, if we are doing the slighest thing wrong our instructors will pick up on it and not let it become a bad habit. The above review surprised me because I can't see how our instructors are rude or agressive lol, everyone takes their training serious but we do have a laugh and I have made loads of new mates from joining, everyone goes to the shows they put on and everyone supports eachother. If your thinking of doing some kind of martial art defanatly do thai boxing and I would say if your from Birmingham go to K star, trust me.
I arrived at K-star expecting great things. These guys promote themselves as world class trainers etc. HA HA HA! The staff are rude, pushy and although they may know how to punch and kick, they have no idea how to treat a non-expert member of the public. I had done a lot of research on Thaiboxing; when I asked questions to the person I was dealing with, he lied to me about the answers in order to make his club look good. Shocking! When I pointed this out, he became aggressive. This gym only wants money folks. There are other places in Brum that will treat you like a customer, not a commodity. Thuggish and unproffessional. Avoid at all costs!
