• It's a bit tacky

  I find 'The Works' to be your local small town nightclub on a larger scale. The two main floors play dance and party classics and R 'n' B. It's an OK place for a night out if a little bit tacky. Also you do get some undesirables in there so watch your drinks and your belongings. Best for a night out as part of a large group eg a hen night, a birthday do.

• big empty vessel

  This venue has so much potential and has never really lived up to its billing as the biggest nightclub on broad st. The place looks good when entering, with its large stairwell up, when you get in its three different rooms, largest one is dance music and is on the ground floor, second one is r and b music on the third floor and the third is eighties music on the second floor. The drinks are expensive, you have to arrive early to escape paying the entrance fee of £5 plus , but when you do that it means you have to wait ages for the place to warm up and for the atmosphere to get going. the larger dance room does warm up at about 1130 onwards and the usual dance tunes are blurted out. The best atmosphere is probably found in the eigthies room and all the usual eigthies hits can be heard in there.Its worth one visit if you havent been before but other clubs are better and cheaper.

• sheer pants!

  boring boring boring!! went in here sum weeks back and found it very dull indeed, very quiet, musics not that good at all and the drinks are very overpriced, even for Broad Streets standards.Staff look like they don't want to be there and got no personality at all, for some reason.Lets just say I was very shocked when i went into this club as Ive always thought it was one of the best places on broad street - how wrong i was!two words - don't bother!!

• Wait till gatecrashers

  Poor night out, very quiet and vastly overpriced drinks. predictable music. Being refurbished to the gatecrashers cluyb which should be a vast improvement.
