• Ridiculously expensive

  From Jan 1st 2011 for a single membership this club will charge you just under £75. The people that work there may be 'lovely' but the ethics of David Lloyd gyms in general is poor. We recently had about 50% of the cardio equipment replaced. The due date being 30/9/2010, on 1st October I received a letter stating that the membership was going up by almost £5. Sorry but a few new machines doesn't compensate for the ridiculous membership prices. I use just the gym but am charged for pool, sauna etc despite never using them. Not flexible enough on membership and the employees will always tell you there are no concessions for where you work despite you knowing someone who already benefits. The people may be 'lovely' as one reviewer previously stated but I'd rather pay £40 elsewhere and put up with 'unlovely' people than continue to be robbed each month by this shower.

• Shockingly bad

  The classes are great - and most of the instructors are lovely. The reception staff are really nice as are most of the food service people However... the state of the gym equipment is appalling - worn patches all over seat areas etc and often key pieces of equipment are out of order. In addition the attitude of the management team is awful - they just dont seem to care what the customer thinks - they tie you in with a 12 month membership then leave you to it . If you aren't a member - DO NO JOIN there are better options available If you are a member - get out of there!

  Great Club and the Gym guys are Fab however the food is definately not up to the standard a Club like David Lloyd should be .You can definately tell when the real Chef is not about.The quality and range is poor.
